Art x Love – The Northern Link Project Team Delivers Love and Care to a Nursing Home in Kwu Tung

07 - 06 - 2024

In celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival, the Northern Link project team recently visited the Joyful Garden Nursing Home in the Kwu Tung North New Development Area, spreading festive atmosphere as well as love and care to the senior residents.

The project team and the elderly were both in high spirits during an interactive session where the elderly were intrigued by fun quizzes.

In addition to sharing the latest information on the Northern Link Project and distributing thoughtful gift bags to the elderly, the team collaborated with the "Mini Movements Inclusive Arts Association". Through their miniature art pieces, "Mini Movements" recounted stories from the past (including those about railway services and daily life) with the elderly and brought back their nostalgic, collective memories of Hong Kong.

The project team and the "Mini Movements" volunteers presented a series of miniature artworks to the elderly, bringing them back to Hong Kong in the 1970s.

The project team introduced the Northern Link project and the latest information on the construction at Kwu Tung Station to the elderly, who expressed support for the projects.

A delicate mini calendar and stickers featuring the Northern Link Project were also given to the elderly to create their own art pieces as a keepsake.

After finishing their first miniature art pieces, the elderly were beaming with satisfaction.

With smiles on their faces and gifts in their hands, the elderly had a great time with the team, who were cordially invited to come back to the nursing home for another visit with the latest project updates and activities to lift the spirits of the elderly.

The warm home visit received enormous support and praise from the elderly and the nursing home managers.
