The MTR Corporation welcomes the Government’s authorisation today (11 November 2022) of the addition of Kwu Tung Station under the Railways Ordinance (Cap. 519).
Kwu Tung Station will be located between Lok Ma Chau Station and Sheung Shui Station in the town centre of the future Kwu Tung North New Development Area (KTN NDA) and upon completion of the new station, the journey time between the KTN NDA and Sheung Shui will be significantly shortened. The project is in the detailed design stage and the construction works are expected to commence next year (2023) with an expected completion in 2027. The Corporation is working closely with relevant stakeholders with a view to put forward the construction as soon as possible.
