Kwu Tung Station is advancing steadily, with the ground floor slab completed, paving the way for topping out by year-end. Since September 2024, the project team has completed critical civil work for the station, including the platform slab, concourse slab, and ground floor slab in less than 300 days.
Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) is widely applied to reduce traditional in-situ construction costs. This application of new technology and innovation boosts safety, efficiency and quality, while also resolving a major project challenge of extremely restricted works area.
Construction of the superstructure of the station including station entrances and staircases will commence upon completion of the ground floor slab. We are progressing at full speed as planned, aiming to complete the station’s structure topping-out and Platform Screen Doors installation by the end of this year, while steadily moving toward the target completion goal in 2027.
